FIREFIGHTERS had to cut open an overturned car to allow its heavily pregnant driver to climb free in Bradford today.
The 32 year old woman was driving a Dacia car in Allerton Road at around 5.15 pm when she apparently suffered a sneezing fit.
The car went out of control and hit a parked vehicle before coming to a rest on its side in the middle of the road.
Firefighters closed the road for about an hour while they worked at the scene and a West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the woman was not trapped, but was unable to climb from the damaged car.
As a result, they removed the windscreen and that allowed her to manoeuvre from the vehicle, with assistance.
She appeared to have sustained no serious injuries but was taken to Bradford General Infirmary for health checks.
Fire crews from the Fairweather Green and Shipley stations were involved in the incident.
