POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian died in an accident with a lorry in Brighouse.
The 65-year-old man was crossing the A6025 Elland Road close to the junction with Brier Lane. The Mercedes-Benz articulated lorry was travelling towards Brighouse from Elland.
The incident happened at about 2.05pm yesterday with the road closed in both directions for several hours as emergency services attended the scene.
Sergeant Carl Quinn of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: "We would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision, the victim or HGV involved.
"Anyone who has any information should contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101."
