POLICE are working to trace the driver of a car which was found dumped after he failed to stop for officers in Bradford.
Motorbike officers tried to stop the car at around 4pm because the driver appeared young and the car had no insurance.
He failed to stop and the car drove off from Leafield Drive, Eccleshill, and officers followed, with the vehicle going through a red light onto Harrogate Road.
Officers followed at a distance and the car was driven slowly due to other traffic, but after losing sight of the vehicle briefly, they found it abandoned on a dead-end road off Leeds Old Road.
The gold Ford Focus was recovered and it emerged it had been sold for scrap a week earlier.
Enquiries are still continuing to try to trace the driver.
