BECKFOOT School’s Jazz Quintet will make their debut at the Bingley Jazz Club in York Street tomorrow night.

The group –official title 4 & 7/8 – comprise Jake Jones (trombone), who has been accepted as a member of the National Youth Orchestra, Chris Adsett (saxophone), Jude Connolly (piano), Greg Williamson (bass) and Dave Adsett (drums). The Beckfoot Soul Band will also perform.

Matthew Stimpson, head music at Beckfoot, said: “ I can never sing their praises highly enough – they are a stunning set of musicians. They just love playing.

“The ensemble reached the final of the music for youth competition last year and won the award for innovation, which is a huge accolade.”

The performance starts at 8pm.
