A NEW monthly cafe for isolated older residents and carers will open for business in Thornton, Bradford.
The Thornton Well-Being Cafe will open its doors at Thornton Community Centre, Market Street on Friday between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons and the Lady Mayoress Elizabeth Sharp will attend the event.
The monthly sessions will offer refreshments and entertainment . It is being run as part of the Bradford and Airedale Older People’s Health in Mind programme. Kathyrn Halford, Queensbury community programme development manager, who will help run the Thornton sessions, said: “It’s meeting the needs of people with dementia and will also be used by their carers as a bit of respite for them.”
