BRADFORD’S council-run museums are looking for volunteers to help record the historic objects held in their reserve collections.
The new team of volunteers will be working alongside museum curators, handling and identifying artefacts before making a record of them on a database.
The project, which starts early next month, will be based initially at the Bradford Industrial Museum on Mondays, with the team working on its technology collections.
It is part of a wider overhaul of the museums’ storage facilities and documentation methods. The project is expected to last for several months.
Anyone interested in applying for a place should visit the volunteering section at www.bradfordmuseums.org and download an application form. Completed application forms must be returned by the January 19 deadline.
