UKIP have announced their candidates for the general election for Bradford East and Bradford West.
Royal Navy Veteran Harry Boota will attempt to oust Bradford West MP George Galloway, of the Respect party, this May to win that seat.
Pakistani-born Mr Boota, who attended school in Bradford, currently lives in Leicestershire.
His Twitter profile says: “Retired Royal Navy Veteran of Falklands and 1st Gulf war. Proud Muslim, Pakistani born but even prouder Brit!”
Mr Boota had previously stood for a council seat as a Liberal Democrat and has run an Indian restaurant.
In Bradford East, Owais Rajput has been chosen to contest the seat currently held by Liberal Democrat MP David Ward. Mr Rajput’s website lists him as a doctoral candidate at Leeds Metropolitan University and a former student at the University of Bradford.
The party will launch its Bradford manifesto at a conference on January 29, featuring Steven Woolfe MEP.
