TWO people remain in police custody after their car crashed into the front of a house on the Buttershaw estate.

Yesterday afternoon the car sped away from police on Little Horton Lane. Officers later saw the vehicle driving into the estate and followed it. They soon found it with its front lodged into the entrance porch of a house.

Nobody in the property was hurt in the crash, and the two people in the car suffered only minor injuries.

They were arrested and their vehicle seized, and officers made sure the house was structurally sound.

Both occupants were in custody last night, waiting to be questioned about the matter.

It is thought they lost control of the car at high speeds while taking a corner, with one witness writing on Facebook that the car appeared to be going around 80 mph.
