WORK on life expectancy and the long-term health of residents in Bradford is to come under discussion from the Council’s ruling Cabinet tomorrow.
Members will be asked to support six topics which should help the city’s community to live healthier lifestyles, including work to reduce infant mortality, stop people smoking, reduce alcohol abuse and tackle the issue of excess winter deaths. The impact of Tuberculosis, which Bradford has the highest rates of new cases in West Yorkshire of, and dementia will also be addressed.
Councillor Amir Hussain (pictured), portfolio holder for health at Bradford Council, said: “Bradford District has seen long-term success in reducing inequalities in important aspects of health and wellbeing how- ever, there is much work to do.”
