A THAI boxing world champion has been putting students through their paces.
As well as teaching some boxing moves, Rachael Mackenzie gave an inspirational talk about overcoming prejudice against women competing in contact sports when she visited Prince Henry’s Grammar School, in Otley.
Rachael, a Senior Athlete Mentor for Sky Sports Living for Sports scheme, said: “My role has enabled me to inspire young people across the UK."
The visit was organised by Year 13 students and sports leaders Katie Broome and Alex Burnett.
, and this scheme offers a great channel for young people to achieve their goals and better themselves.
“This was an amazing group at Prince Henry’s - I love the feeling of purpose and aspiration you get as you walk through the school.”
as part of the Sky Sports mentoring programme.
She then led the students through her punishing warm-up routine and got them trying out some Thai boxing moves.
