A LOW-KEY Ilkley Summer Festival could be on the cards this year due to concern about plans to fund events.
Ilkley Summer Festival directors are to hold their annual general meeting this month, and say events could be limited and ‘run on a shoestring’ if financial support is not found.
Another festival meeting is expected to take place next month, involving more members of the community.
In the meantime bids are being send to various bodies, including Ilkley Parish Council, calling for financial support.
Festival company managing director Anne Hawkesworth says plans are being kept “low key” at the moment. She said: “Without financial support events will have to be limited and run on a shoestring. However, I will give some indication of our plans should our bids be successful.”
