BRADFORD painter Barry Langroyd Hanson has been showing his pictures in various local venues for years.
Two years ago the former groundsman at Undercliffe Cricket Club has also used the side of his Killinghall Road house to paint a giant cricket ball. It was his way of trying to out-do his self-appointed rival David Hockney.
He said at the time: "I love art and I've always been able to paint. I've always been better than David Hockney. Hockney did a painting of trees called Bigger Trees. I've created a Bigger Ball. I'm Bradford's other artist."
Barry, 75, has shown his work at Bradford Industrial Museum, Bradford Central Library that was and Bolton Royd College on Manningham Lane, among other places. His latest exhibition, at Shipley Library, opens on Monday (Jan 12) and is on for a fortnight.
"I've not been well, so this is likely to be my last shout. I've always had good support from Bradford people. They like my work," he added.
His 2010 show at the Industrial Museum was in tribute to his wife Esther whom he met in Cameroon and later married in a traditional African ceremony in which he had to buy three pigs.
Esther died in 2006 aged 46.
Barry Langroyd Hanson's picture show at Shipley Library runs from January 12-24.
