BRADFORD Cathedral is to host a new play centred around the journey of D-Day veterans back to the Normandy beaches next month.
Le Grand Return is described as a gentle comedy about love, remembrance, war and peace, and it is written by Bradford actor, director and playwright, Alan Stockdill.
Set in 1994, the story follows Tommy, Alf, and Edwin, veterans who are determined to break out of their nursing home and rejoin old comrades in France.
Tickets cost £5, and money raised by the performance, which takes place at 8pm on Monday, February 9, will be donated to the Bradford branch of the Royal British Legion.
“We are thrilled to be bringing this play to such a wonderful venue,” said Mr Stockdill.
