DEVELOPERS have been given the go-ahead to build 50 new affordable homes on a brownfield site in Douglas Road, Cutler Heights, Bradford.
The project was passed by Bradford Council’s regulatory and appeals committee despite concerns from residents over access. Martin Hall, for a residential committee, argued a better access point would be Sticker Lane.
A spokesman for developer Home Group said: “We understand residents wanted access from Sticker Lane, but the gradient was just too severe for an adopted road.” It is very important we engage with local residents, and we will continue to do so.”
The committee voted in favour of the plans, and Councillor Anne Hawkesworth (Ind, Ilkley) said: “This is the development of a brownfield site and should be supported.”
