THE last-ever annual sheepdog trials at a farm in Oakworth raised £2,458 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The event at Moor Lodge Farm on New Year’s Day was organised by mother and son Carol and Philip Mellin.
Since 2003 their competition has raised a grand total of £27,370 for the air ambulance.
Mrs Mellin said it was “with regret” that she had decided that this would be the last instalment of the trials, noting that it had become harder to ask people to donate prizes. She added that the final contest had been a great success
