BRADFORD Cathedral’s organ will be used to accompany a new season of silent films to be screened there.
The live organ improvisation will be by Jonathan Eyre, assistant director of music at the cathedral, who has built up a following for his playing to accompany films.
This season opens on Friday January 16 with The Wizard of Oz, with Dorothy Dwan and Oliver Hardy starring. On February 13, Wings (1927); March 13 with The Black Pirate (1926) and May 8 with The Rat (1925). It closes on June 12 with a Summer Slapstick Triple Bill. Doors open 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start, tickets £8 with refreshments after the film. Call 01274 777720.
