ONE lane of a road in Shipley will be closed today because of a collapsed wall.

Bradford Council said the closure – which is near the junction of Otley Road and Valley Road, will affect traffic turning right into Valley Road from Shipley – was for safety reasons and to prevent more damage to the road.

The authority’s highway service is liaising with the landowner and the leaseholder in order to get the damaged wall repaired as soon as possible.

A spokesman for the council said: “We apologise for any delays caused by this lane closure and we will be working hard to try and get it open and traffic flowing freely again as quickly as we can.”
