TWO Laisterdyke Business and Enterprise students attended a prestigious training day at a London academy.
Aneeka Hussain and Aqsa Bibi were part of a cohort of 30 Year 12 students from across the UK, who attended one of three days of training and development at Debrett’s Academy in Mayfair.
The Debrett’s Foundation is a not-for-profit division of Debrett’s and was launched in 2014 to support and champion social mobility to ensure that the next generation of leaders are from all walks of life and backgrounds.
High achieving students are nominated by their schools or college and selected to attend the Debrett’s Academy. The Academy delivers training in areas such as interviews and networking to help provide the skills and confidence to network and gain work experience. The girls mixed with 7 students from Liverpool and Birmingham and had to undertake practical networking, elevator pitching, small talk and presentations skills and listened to a speech by business leader Jeremy Galbraith of the PR Company Burson-Marsteller of Belgium.
