A DRUG addict who stole to feed his habit has been locked up for eight months.
Abid Naeem, 38, of Millhaven View, Manningham, Bradford, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop, three offences of theft from vehicles and one of failing to surrender.
Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday the offences, which took place between September and December last year, began when he stole designer sunglasses worth £1,500 from Specsavers in Thornton Road.
He was confronted by a security guard and the glasses were recovered.
He then broke into cars on three occasions, causing damage and stealing sat navs and stereos.
Jailing him for eight months, Judge Jonathan Rose told Naeem the inconvenience and upset he had caused was very significant and that people had suffered greatly.
