FOUR women are on trial at Bradford Crown Court accused of plotting to fleece an elderly widow while providing home care for her.
Wendy Bell, 57, of Greenside Lane, Cullingworth; Lisa Bell, 30, also of Greenside Lane; Lynda Mynott, 60, of Garforth Road, Keighley, and Helen Banks, 42, of Howbeck Avenue, Riddlesden, all deny conspiracy to defraud Audrey Hammond, between February 2010 and September 2012.
Wendy Bell is also accused of two separate fraud offences.
The jury was yesterday sworn in to try the case which is expected to last more than two weeks. Prosecution barrister Stephen Wood, opening the trial, alleged the women all played a role in defrauding Mrs Hammond, who is in her 90s and lives in Cracoe, near Skipton.
