A BRADFORD dad who collided with another car as he drove through green traffic lights wants help to track the vehicle that sped off without stopping.
Supermarket worker Ejaz Akhoonzad hopes witnesses will come forward to help police trace the driver of a black car that he says pulled out in front of him at about 6.45pm as he was driving from Bingley Road into Haworth Road on New Year’s Day.
Mr Akhoonzad, of Plantation Way, had been on his way to pick up his wife from work with his one-year-old son as passenger.
“I hit it right in the middle because I had no chance to stop. It didn’t stop it just spend off. I was in shock and other people had to come and open the car door for me. I was worried about my son but he was okay, just crying. I’ve got neck and shoulder pain,” he said.
The 40-year-old said police and ambulance came to the scene to help but an officer told him it would be difficult to trace the car.
“My car might be a write off.”
A police spokesman confirmed officers were called just after 7pm to reports of a two vehicle collision at the junction of Haworth Road and Toller Lane.
Mr Akhoonzad had been driving a silver Seat Ibiza.
