A TEENAGER arrested on suspicion of murdering Bradford grandfather Clement 'Butch' Desmier has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
The 19-year-old man was arrested in Bradford this week in connection with the murder of 68-year-old Mr Desmier, who was found dead at his home in Rowlestone Rise, Greengates, on August 23, 2012.
The 68-year-old father-of-six and grandfather-of-ten had been stabbed 40 times and was found slumped in his armchair with a pillow over his head.
The case has featured on BBC's Crimewatch programme and Crimestoppers put up a £10,000 reward.
On New Year's Day, the Telegraph & Argus carried a fresh appeal for information from detectives and Mr Desmier's family.
His family described him as having a ‘heart of gold’, and said: “We have just had our third Christmas since our dad and grandad was cruelly taken from us.
"No-one has been brought to justice over this dreadful crime that has devastated our lives."
Detectives are keen to identify a man who was seen with Mr Desmier going into his house on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 22, 2012, and the people seen in his garden in the early hours of the following day.
