BRADFORD Council has revealed that demand for foster carers is falling across the district.
The local authority currently looks after 905 children who are at risk of harm and said 74 per cent of those lived with foster carers.
Of the remaining children, some live at home with their birth parents under supervision and some live in residential care.
But the Council said that demand for carers of young children or babies was reducing.
A spokesman said: “Ninety-four per cent of Bradford’s looked after children are cared for by foster carers that work for or with Bradford Council.
“Bradford Council recruits foster carers and draws on these carers to look after a child or young person first.
“The best results are achieved when a child is cared for by a Bradford foster carer alongside a Bradford social worker working together around the child.”
