CRIME victims are becoming increasingly satisfied with the service they receive from police, according to the West Yorkshire force.

They say satisfaction levels have been creeping up since 2008 among victims of burglary, violent crime, vehicle crime and racial offences.

Last year the overall satisfaction rate among victims was 89.5 per cent, with women “consistently” more likely to accept the outcome than their male counterparts.

Those aged over 55 are more likely to be happy with the way police have behaved than younger victims.

Fewer crime victims from minority communities have been satisfied with police in the past.

But since 2008, satisfaction rates among minority communities have grown by 11.5 per cent and by 8.5 per cent from the white community.
