Police recover property stolen in burglary
POLICE recovered property taken during one of three house burglaries on New Year's Day after detaining a man who matched the description of the offender.
One burglary was at Allerton and two took place in Clayton, with the offender disturbed on two occasions.
That meant police had a description of the offender and officers spotted a suspect while on patrol.
He was detained and a search revealed property taken in the course of one of the offences, several minutes earlier.
The police investigation is still going on.
