THE Halle Orchestra is seeing in the New Year in Bradford with a grand Viennese concert.
The Hallé’s New Year’s celebration concerts are a popular feature of Bradford’s classical season, and this year they are conducted by Stephen Bell.
Manchester’s award-winning symphony orchestra promises an afternoon of glamorous waltzes and exciting polkas. World-renowned soprano Rebecca Bottone will perform a selection of songs and arias, and other highlights include Emperor Waltz, Tritsch-Tratsch Polka, Roses from the South, Pizzicato Polka, The Hunt Polka, Land of Smiles Overture and the New Year Galop.
The concert will also feature the Overture and Adèle’s Laughing Song from Die Fledermaus, I Give You My Heart from Countess Dubarry, and two Zeller arias, Roses from Tirol and Don’t be Angry, alongside other favourites.
The concert draws to a close with perennial toe-tapping favourite, the Radetzky March, and the most famous waltz in the world, On the Beautiful Blue Danube.
