BRADFORD Council says that it has managed to eradicate or control an invasive weed at several locations across the district.
The local authority has been taking action to address Japanese knotweed on sites it owns in Bradford.
Councillor Andrew Thornton, the council’s executive member with responsibility for environment, said: “A programme of two or three selective sprays per year is carried out.
“The key to effective treatment is spraying at the correct time when the plant is more susceptible to the chemical applied.”
If left uncontrolled, Japanese knotweed can damage houses and other structures.
