A FIELD of poppies continues to prove a poignant reminder of the 100th anniversary since the start of the First World War at an Eccleshill museum.
The display, which features 2,000 textile poppies, is at Bradford Industrial Museum, Moorside Road.
There is a poppy for each of the 2,000 Bradford Pals (the 16th and 18th battalions of the West Yorkshire Regiment) who left their trenches on July 1, 1916 to cross 'no man's land' in the first hour of the first day of the battle of the Somme.
The poppy field display will be at the Bradford Industrial Museum until June 6.
It will then transfer to Bolling Hall as part of the Bradford's War: 1914-18 exhibition programme and go to Cliffe Castle Museum and City Hall, up until 2018.
The poppy display has been created by artist Naomi Parker and nine groups of older people from the Bradford district. These included Airedale Embroiderers' Guild and Denholme Elders Network.
Entrance to the display, which was officially unveiled in October, is free.
Neil Hinchliffe, Bradford Industrial Museum manager, said: "It takes pride of place in our reception area.
"It won't always be at this site. It will also be going to other museums around Bradford."
