BUSINESSES and schools teamed up for a "Business Challenge Cup" at Shipley College.
The event was held in the College's Centre of Excellence for Business in Victoria Hall, Saltaire, and involved the businesses associated with the centre teaming up with groups from the centre, Carlton Bolling School and Titus Salt School.
The companies included Sweeney Solicitors, social housing group Incommunities, loans firm Provident Financial, William Saunders, Bradford Council and the University of Bradford Computing Lecturers.
Over the course of the day , the different teams were involved in challenges like building a bridge out of paper that could bear the weight of two people and making a paper plane that could travel the furthest distance.
The winning employer was Provident Financial which was teamed up with Titus Salt School students.
The centre is one of several Industrial Centres for Excellence (ICE) set up by Bradford Council to offer courses to get students ready for the working world.
Each specialist ICE offers students aged 14-19 training, further and higher education geared towards the needs of the job market with enhanced work placements, business mentoring and career development.
