RESIDENTS in parts of Otley and Yeadon are preparing for a partial switch-off of their street lights.
Leeds City Council, like many local authorities, is introducing a cost-cutting policy of turning off lights in 'low risk' areas between midnight and 5am.
Local householders who will be affected were notified in December, and told the new arrangements would begin on January 12.
Ward councillors have also asked that maps showing the relevant areas be posted up at public libraries.
And they are urging residents to tell the council what they think of the change.
