AN ALCOHOLIC who stole a cup cake maker to sell to buy drink has been sentenced to an eight week curfew order.
John McMenamin, 50, of Westgate, Bradford, admitted shoplifting the £19.99 item at Argos in the city's Kirkgate Centre on December 4.
His solicitor advocate, Anne-Marie Hutton, said he was a registered alcoholic who had been trying hard to battle his drink problem but succumbed in the run-up to Christmas.
He was caught with the cup cake maker before he could remove it from the shop.
Bradford and Keighley magistrates ordered McMenamin to stay indoors from 7pm to 7am on the electronically monitored curfew order.
