PUPILS at a Bradford school are celebrating after a visit from Pudsey Bear helped them to one of their greatest fundraising achievements to date.
The youngsters at Copthorne Primary School were among thousands across the UK who pulled out all the stops to help disadvantaged children for the Children in Need charity, raising more than £800.
The school held a special assembly to mark the occasion, with the highlights including teacher Christabel Shepherd and colleagues dancing while the children also dressed up as their favourite superhero and played games.
Copthorne was one of 56 schools to get special resources from Lloyds Bank, partner to BBC Children in Need, to make the day as special as possible as part of their ‘Best.Assembly.Ever.’ programme, which sees pupils design their own celebratory assemblies.
Lloyds Bank provided the schools with resource materials, linked to the curriculum, to help them develop their skills and boost their fundraising potential, as part of Lloyds Banking Group’s strategy to Help Britain Prosper.
Copthorne Primary School were not the only ones getting into the spirit of Children in Need with St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School in Shipley also raising £1,035 through a variety of activities such as an opposites day where pupils dressed as the opposite sex.
Lloyds Bank is committed to helping the Charity double donations raised through schools per annum by 2017.
