A FAULTY dehumidifier is believed to have started a fire in a cellar at a Keighley house today.
Fire crews from Keighley and Bingley were called to the property in Park Grove, Lawkholme, at about 1.55pm after the householder spotted smoke.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to put out the blaze.
Crew commander Darren Creighton, of Keighley fire station, said the householder was standing outside when the fire crew arrived.
He said: “Black smoke was billowing out when we got there. There was severe damage to the cellar and heavy smoke damage to the kitchen.”
