PATIENTS are being urged to give their views on emergency dental care in Kirklees.
The service, which is provided by Local Care Direct at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, is due to be re-commissioned by NHS England in January.
Healthwatch Kirklees wants to hear from people who have used the service.
“There will always be a need for an emergency or unplanned dental service,” said Rory Deighton, director at Healthwatch Kirklees. “However, what we are finding is that many people who attend are not emergencies at all.
“We’re hearing from people who can’t find a local NHS dentist, and can’t afford a private one, and come because this is the only way to get NHS dental care.
Patients and carers can e-mail their feedback to info@healthwatchkirklees.co.uk, or call the charity on 01924 450379.
