NEW Year partygoers are being urged to stay safe.

Bradford Council’s public health department is asking people to “think before they drink”.

Hillary McMullen, for the council, said: “Over the festive period people often drink more than they would normally and drinking excessively can take a toll on you. Drinking can also lead you to do things you wouldn’t ordinarily do.

“Planning the night and making sure you know how you are getting home means you are less likely to put yourself in a risky situation.”
