A KEIGHLEY schoolboy will appear in one of the highlights of the Christmas TV schedule – a romantic comedy written by Victoria Wood.
Sam Burles, 14, who attends the Bradford-based Yorkshire School of Acting and Stagecoach Keighley, joined a cast headed by Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton in That Day We Sang, which is on BBC2 at 9pm on Boxing Day.
Inspired by a real-life recording of Nymphs and Shepherds by the Manchester Children’s Choir in 1929, the musical is set against a reunion of former choir members 40 years on.
Sam’s role in That Day We Sang led to him being cast for Our Zoo, a popular drama series about the founder of Chester Zoo, which aired earlier this year.
