BRADFORD’S senior dignitaries joined with all sections of the city’s community to celebrate Christmas last night.
The annual carol service for the City of Bradford at the Cathedral saw Lord Mayor Mike Gibbons and Deputy Lord Mayor Roger L’Amie among those who gave readings.
A solo performance by Bradford Grammar School pupil Ruby Hendry left the congregation spellbound The Cathedral Choir also sang, under direction of Alex Woodrow, and despite poor weather the Cathedral was full.
Cllr Gibbons said: “The importance of this event is borne out by the capacity congregation. Everyone loves a good sing and equates this time of year with family, friends and the Christmas message. It is my pleasure to be amongst these wonderful people. The congregation comes from across the community.”
