A KEIGHLEY school’s science club is looking ahead to a national final after winning a regional Lego robot competition.
The Oakbank pupils beat 15 other teams, from as far afield as Selby and Morecambe, to take the honours in the contest at Bradford University.
They now go forward to a national final, at Loughborough, next year.
“We were absolutely delighted with the result,” said club mentor Cheryl Moore, a senior science technician.
“I am so proud of what they have achieved.”
The Oakbank youngsters built and programmed a robot to complete various tasks, such as lifting objects.
The device can differentiate between colours and has a sensor to prevent collisions.
The club also designed a phone app to help students learn and revise different subjects.
