BRADFORD charity Womenzone has held a women’s musical therapy night celebrating the songs of the legendary Pakistani performer Noor Jehan.
More than 100 women and girls, with an age range of three up to 70, attended the event, which saw singer Shabnam Khan perform Jehan’s repertoire.
All proceeds will be used to support the Womenzone Community Centre on Hubert Street, Bradford, which offers learning opportunities, health promotion, and socialising.
A spokesman for the charity, which has recently focused on raising awareness of mental health issues, said: “Music is a form of therapy and can help people feel more positive and break down barriers between cultures and age groups.”
