HEALTH chiefs across the Bradford district are urging parents and carers of children under five to make the right choices should their child fall ill.
Leaflets promoting a new campaign, ‘Feeling poorly? What can I do to help my child?’, are being delivered to hospitals, GPs, children’s centres and groups, giving advice on common illnesses.
The information, produced by the Bradford NHS clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), gives guidance on how parents can treat minor ailments – such as fevers, coughs, and colds – at home, rather than visiting A&E. Dr Rafaqut Rashid, of the CCG’s clinical board, said: “Many illnesses can be safely treated at home with a few useful medicines and expert advice from health professionals.”
