PLANNING officers have refused an application to turn a landscaped area of Canal Road into a used-car display lot.

The application, by Paul Coulson, included concreting over green parts of the Polar Ford site to make space for more parked vehicles and a new brick wall, separating the site and Canal Road.

But officers at Bradford Council said the landscaping was an important green feature on the heavily developed Canal Road area, and the plans would create a “less favourable impression of the city”.
