PLANS for a replacement house at Browside Farm, Northowram, have been dismissed on appeal over concerns that it would result in a “materially larger” dwelling on the green belt site.
The scheme was first refused by Calderdale Council in July. Now planning inspector Alison Partington says while the footprint would be roughly the same, the volume would be 50 per cent bigger than the existing dwelling. She believes it is inappropriate developmentin the green belt and has turned down the appeal.
