BRADFORD may have escaped snow so far this year, but a winter wonderland exists in the city for those who know where to look.
A Winter Wonderland of Christmas decorations has been created at Carrwood Primary School, located in Eversley Drive, Holme Wood.
The display, which has delighted the pupils at the school, features life-size polar bears and cubs along with other animals, snow and trees with white lights.
The school has a tradition of creating impressive winter scenes and this year’s has been used to generate funds for the Candlelighters charity through donations.
That was formed in 1976 by parents of children affected by cancer and continues to do good work from its base at Leeds General Infirmary.
Because Candlelighters was founded by, and still run by, parents of children who have or had cancer, it is well placed to understand the trauma and turmoil of that diagnosis and how the support and care needed may differ from family to family.
