BETHLEHEM comes to Bingley with the arrival of the town’s second Nativity Live parade on Saturday.
The Holy Family and their donkey will start their journey at noon in the 5-Rise Shopping Precinct where angels will interrupt the ordinary and break the news that Mary will bear God’s son.
Calling in at local pubs along the way looking for somewhere to shelter, they will eventually find a birthplace for Jesus in a stable in the market place overlooked by hillside shepherds and sheep.
The Rev Beverley Mason, of All Saints’ Church, Bingley, said hundreds of well wishers were expected to line the route.
“Building upon last year’s hugely popular Bingley Nativity Live, this year promises to be even more special."
“Don’t be too busy for this - come along, do some character spotting and get Christmas off to the right start,” the Rev Mason said.
She also put out an last minute appeal for help to local riding schools.
“It would be great to have our Three Kings arrive on three steady horses and we would happily make a donation in return for help,” she said.
