A MAN from Bradford remains critically ill in hospital after sustaining what police described as ‘life threatening head injuries’ during a violent incident.

Police arrested four people as a result of the incident in Wakefield, around 5am on Saturday, where up to 10 people were reportedly fighting.

Three were released on bail pending further enquiries but a fourth, Joshua Balmforth, aged 20, of no fixed address, appeared at Wakefield Magistrates Court yesterday and will make a further appearance today at Leeds Crown Court accused of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
