ANOTHER demonstration is due to take place this Saturday against cuts to public services in Haworth.
The gathering will come just a week after placard-carrying protestors marched through the village last Saturday afternoon, led by Haworth resident and award-winning gardener Steve Thorpe.
He staged the march to oppose a series of cuts which have hit Haworth recently, including the impending closure of Haworth Retained Fire Station.
The station is due to be shut down on December 31 as part of cuts to West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service.
Mr Thorpe said: “I’m not someone who likes to cause bother. But I realised that sometimes you just have to stand up for what’s important.”
Saturday’s protest begins at 1pm outside the fire station.
