A MEDAL-WINNING boxer had his achievements recognised at a Bradford College reception in his honour.
College student Mo Ali is one of the latest stars to emerge from the Bradford Police and College Boxing Academy and recently won gold at the Zagreb 2014 European Youth Championships.
At yesterday’s reception he was given a special commemorative belt by the college.
Mo, from Keighley, was joined by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons, members of the Bradford College Executive and representatives from the Boxing Academy.
He said: “It feels like a real privilege for the success to be recognised by the college.
“It’s thanks to the college, since I enrolled on the AASE (Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence) Programme, I have improved a lot.”
Bradford Boxing development officer Paul Porter said: “Today is a celebration of everything Mo has achieved throughout the year.”
