A SALTAIRE-based care group is part of a new scheme to introduce measures to help keep vulnerable residents safe and protect them if they go missing.
Czajka Care Group has teamed up with the Alzheimer’s Society and West Yorkshire Police on the Herbert Protocol, aimed at helping the police and other relevant authorities to intervene and react as soon as a vulnerable resident is reported missing.
The procedures include advice and guidelines to help prevent residents going missing in the first place.
Czajka Care Group runs five nursing and care homes in Nab Wood, Cross Hills and Steeton.
Konrad Czajka, managing director, said: “We always try to achieve a balance between offering an unrivalled level of care and maintaining our residents’ independence. Thankfully incidents of residents going missing are extremely rare.
“However, it’s always good to be prepared for the worst case-scenario. There is no doubt that this new scheme will help to give vulnerable residents an additional layer of protection.”
