A COURAGEOUS girl from Glusburn Community Primary School, near Keighley, switched on the Christmas tree lights in Cross Hills.
Tyler Manley, nine, had a brain tumour removed in September 2013 and spent seven months recovering at Leeds General Infirmary.
The switch-on was part of an evening of Christmas fun in the village’s Main Street, organised by the South Craven Together group.
Group spokesman Mohammed Hafejee said Tyler, who is part of the school choir, was still undergoing chemotherapy.
He said: “She has returned to school full time and has amazed everyone at how well she is doing.”
Mr Hafejee said the Cross Hills Extravaganza, now in its second year, was “action packed and joyous” .
There were carol singers, face painters, musicians, a raffle and a Santa’s grotto.
Winning raffle numbers are on South Craven Together’s Facebook page.
