CHANGES to how takeaway food is served could make people with allergies more confident about ordering food.
A survey by the Foods Standards Agency found that 70 per cent of people with allergies avoided buying takeaways, while 53 per cent avoided eating in restaurants for the same reason.
It has become law for all takeaways and restaurants to inform customers if any of the top 14 allergen ingredients is present in the food they serve.
It is hoped the changes will bring about a reduction in the number of allergic reactions by people accidentally eating food they are allergic to.
